Need help in the next 2 hours, tires!!

I'm supposed to take the truck in today in 2 hours to get some fierce attitude m/t's put on my 2011 trd 4x4

The size I chose was 265 70 17

When he called me to confirm my appointment he asked me about getting 285's

I have a 3" lift on the truck, I just don't want to cut the crap put of the front wheel wells.

Should I stick with my original sizing choice or just get the 285's???

They have not tires in stock, and I'm going in soon so I need someone to help me decide

 

I have the smaller size on mine without a lift, it might look too dinky on yours with a lift.

I would think the 285's you might need to do some trimming...but some shops let you do this: you might want to "try them on" without actually taking them home and see if it clears. If not then go for the smaller size.

 

I have 285/75r16 and they rub at full lock. The tires I have are Mickey Thompson mtz Baja Claw. They are a bit knobby so the tires you are getting might not rub depending on how aggressive your tread is on the tires you are about to get.
265 to 285 is a pretty noticeable size jump too.

I'm getting the 285's I don't want to regret it, and they are 100 bucks more. I'll deal with rubbing later I'm super excited I've had the truck for a year with the lift on it with stock sized tires

Should of stuck with the 265/70/17's IMO.

 

X2. You will need to get wheels spacers to fix this problem. With 285's you will def have to trim some stuff but nothing major. You will probably still rub the cab mount at full lock but not by much.

 

I dont have stock wheels....

 

I also have 285/75/16's and they rub at full lock on one side but I also have LR UCA's. The alignment cured the run on the drivers side. I still need to put the spacers on before I go off roading in it.

 

What is the back space?

Oh there are two specs on the wheels that I got on the website but I think they are actually 5.25, I'm still not at the shop yet but I'm thinking it won't work.

But you can go with tall, narrow tires, not kill your MPG's, still gain the same lift and not hack up your truck in the process.

285's will def rub uca without spacers

 

I got the 285's no rubbing Uca small cutting on the front fender well at the bumper and removed the mud flaps, at full lock it rubs the frame? Cab mount?

Thinking about getting spacers though
