I just found a pretty good chunk missing on the center of my tread. Ive got Hankook ATMs with the w 26k of use. There is still quite some tread above the wear bars. The chunk actually came out of the carcass as well but I dont see any steel belt. These tires have a mfg warranty of 50k iirc. I called Discount Tire and they said I do have the prorated warranty. I know they are gonna try to sell me a new set, but I want Hankook to pay for them. Anyone ever deal with the mfg on warranty issues? Thanks.

I had a set of Cooper tires that the sidewall started splitting around 20k miles. I had to do the prorated warranty and it was based on tread depth, not mileage. It was determined that I had 55% of my tread depth remaining so Cooper gave me a 55% credit toward any new Cooper tires. I was glad they did something because, in my situation, it would have been dangerous to keep driving on the but I stil had to pay for mounting and balancing.

Discount tire didn't have the Hankook ATM and it's backordered from the warehouse. So it would take about 4 weeks. Ended up getting a Cooper Discoverer ATP for $15. The warranty definitely paid for itself.
