The good thing is he wants to run light racing uca. He can add 1 degree if caster and get good alignment instead of the non adjustable 2 degrees added by uniball uca. This keeps the wheel more forward in the wheel well. That allows 2.8 degree caster and will clear a cab mount chop. If you run 33" or taller 285s and have a uniball uca you have to run over 3.0 caster to get em to clear. I have a 33.15" tire and have to go with 3.6 degree caster. Hammering the pinchweld and flare trimming will also be needed.

If anyone lives in the Houston area and thinks that they have 33" 285s that don't rub without a cab mount chop I'd like to meet up and take some photos. The cab mount chop is not a big deal. I did mine in 5 hours with ZERO experience. You just gotta have balls to cut the mount... it is scary the first time.

I've already trimmed fenders and been running 285s with a 3" lift for 3+ years now... haven't had a fender fly off on me yet. If you lost a fender it was because you didn't trim enough, that's all there is to it. I'm not concerned with taking fender off but as it stands now I've not once contacted the cab mount so chopping it hasn't been required.
I'm running a 16x7.5 with 15mm offset, so quite a lot different specs than my buddy was told he could do. That setup sounds problematic to me and the intent of this thread was to see what all mods would be required.

Its entirely possible that I'm easier on my truck. Also haven't had it offeoad since removing my swaybar. Then again, you are spaced out about 1.34" further than my current setup... which I think is more likely the reason you have as many contact issues as you do.

    Illuminated 4X4 switch, 3" lift,
I had an AAL but went with a 1" block instead, thought the AAl would stiffen the ride.

JLee, i haven't gone off road yet, so not sure how she handle yet.
