i have a set of mickey thompson mtz's and i have heard people say they these tires are one of the noisiest mud tires. however, i dont think they are excessively loud. at about 45 mph, i can start to hear them whir. at 65 mph, they are at their loudest, but its not like they are deafening. i took a 2000 mile road trip in my truck and i wasnt annoyed by them.

the on road ride with them is waaaaay better than stock. they soak up the bumps and the ride is far less jittery than the bf goodrich rugged trails. off-road, however, you really need to air them down (to at least 18 psi or less). the side walls are stiff and it makes for a very rough ride if they are not aired down.

yes, they are louder than stock, but the looks and performance of the mud tire far exceeds any concerns about road noise (for me anyway :)).

You have a strange idea of quiet. I had this same tire and size and my wife would hit the garage door opener when she heard me coming- wah wah wah wah wah wah wah - about a quarter mile from home!!!

Def don't get Mud grapplers. There loud, abnoxious, but they can get descent mileage if you take care of them.

I use mine everyday at work...only really upside if you dont need a mud tire is that they look bad A.
