I have a 2002 SR5 TRD Prerunner. I have buddy with a virtually new set off his 2009 Tacoma. Normally I would just drive over and try one on but he is a 2 hr drive. Both trucks are 6 lug. I was filtering through the wheel specs and cant seem to be able to get the info squared away. Anybody know off the top of their head or have done a similar swap.

    Thanks

They will fit just fine, no issues at all.

Awesome, Thanks for the quick response. my hunch was they would but did not want to drive 2 hrs and laugh that they did not. Of course we would have had a beer catching up so not all would have been lost..

Backspacing is a bit different, the tires will stick out an inch or so more, but the wheels will fit without interference.

While we are rim discussion, I will eventually want to go to a narrower wheel and 235/85/16 tire, any thoughts?

Why a narrower wheel? The 1st Gen/Tundra 5-spoke look plenty narrow with the flush face, and 245 is the standard width for the base/SR5 Tundra.
See no reason why a 235/85-16 won't work just fine.

Well I personally do not care for the big wide tire look. The TRD tires seem "Baloony" looking The 235/85 is a pretty narrow taller tire then the factory tire. I felt a narrower wheel would just be a cleaner set up. How wide is the Tacoma wheel. I have never measured. And I agree 100% the flush face looking wheel is the look I want. The wheels on my ride now just look fugly. I have been waiting for the tires to go away to swap them all out. I am getting close.

Looking at this wheel if I do not buy my friends. I am aware that the pic shown is a 5 lug but they sell in 6. Just showing a style

1st Gens have 4.5" BS 2nd Gens have 5.25" BS
Tires will not stick out farther on your 1st Gen they will be .75" closer to your frame & UCAs. I don't know if it will be a problem or not.
My 2nd Gen with 245/75/16s on stock steelies

And with 255/85/16s on 1st Gen TRDs

    4w4B,
Thanks for the pics and confirmation on Offset. I was doing the math and based on backspace the 2009 wheels will sit inbound a bit further then my current wheels. Bolt pattern is no issue. I think I will pursue aftermarket wheels for my specific year and narrower and bit taller tires.

You're welcome. I didn't want you to get the 2nd Gen wheels thinking they would stick out farther when in fact they would be in closer & could cause problems.
