Tire size question

Yes I have searched and yes i am dumb...

I have stock 265 65 17 on my truck.. I plan on putting an 18" rim most likely and I know on stock height max would be 265 65 18..

I plan on doing a toytec ULK setting it about 2 to 2.5" not I would like a bit wider of a tire I dont care for more height (sidewall) so what size(s) would i be looking at with either a 17 or 18 " rim to get a little more width?

I am confused at how all this works and I did check out the tire size cal thread.

 

305/55/18 street tires or BFG makes the km2 in 305/60/18 but you'll need to cut.

 

Could also do a 285/60/18. Fairly common, 32", won't need to trim with the lift.

 

I dont want to be to wide I think 305 would be to wide I still want an AT type tire i just dont care to have huge tires on the truck with the distance to work I travel daily my MPG would kill me.

I want Just a little wider than stock. So 265 is my width so 270,275 are a wider tire..for example 275 65 17 would be wider than stock?

 

Keep in mind that width adds just as much if not more weight than height.
