i have a 2012 tacoma 4x2 base, heres my problem!!!! i called bfg and they said to run 40 psi in all 4 tires.... that seems too high! but im not a tire expert, i did the chalk test but when i checked the chalk it was gone.... does anybody have these same tires on their base model? if so what psi are you running for best tire wear?

alot of metal, small engine, decent travel.
caged, camburg long travel, 50t leafpack (soon to be installed) light rack over cab, 5pt harnesses etc
i dont have those tires or truck but im suggesting 32-33 psi.
and if the chalk was gone after doing the chalk test you drove too far with the chalk. i believe it only takes like 100 feet

If you're not a tire expert, listen to the tire experts and stop trying to insult me via PM with poor grammar.

I run BFG's 225/70/15 and they're running at 32-35 psi. But if your unsure, check BFG's website because they have the PSI in the specs or check the tires themselves.

Step one should actually be to look at the door jamb, it will tell you what psi to run the tires at. The tire itself will only tell you the max psi.

guy claims 40 is too much, i say look at the side of the tire. This is not a complex situation lol the side will give the max psi. 40 is under that, bam 40 is not too much

It can be if you want even tire wear.
    Like stated chalk test them.

Like I said, doorjamb is STEP 1. I can promise you 40 is way too much, unless OP is pulling some serious weight in the truck. And it doesn't matter if the tires are stock or not, the doorjamb is still the best baseline starting point, regardless of tire brand.

And FWIW brah, on tire experts: I'm one of them with several years experience in the industry.

Can be? yes, will for sure? no.

I ran 40 psi in a similar weighted vehicle and they wore even so......... False. Better go back to tire school.
