Another tire size question. OME 3" lift - Spidertrax - 17" wheel

Hey,
I did a bit of digging and couldnt find much.

Putting a 3" OME lift on right away and what to make sure my wheel/tire combo is perfect.

Im buying some 17x8 Procomp 52 series RockCrawlers (4.5 BS) and I just found out that they rub the caliper.
The solution I found is getting 1.25 SpiderTrax wheel spacers so they clear the caliper.

Now I need to know what size of tire to get?!

Orginally I was going to go with 285/70/17's, but now I'm scared I will have too much rubbing...

What tire size do you guys suggest I get?
I will occasionally be taking this rig wheelin' so keep that in mind (nothing crazy at all).

would 2.5 BS help any at all?

Thanks in advance,
Travis

I think you'll rub like crazy with the wheels sticking out that far and 285's. I have an OME lift with 16" wheels that have 4" bs, and my 265/75/16's rub. I think 4.5"bs is ideal for 285's - maybe look at different wheels?

you will have to trim, I was running a 3" lift with 1.25" spacers on 265s and rubbed on the fenders. put flared fenders on and it took care of it, 285s will rub pretty bad.

Rubbing has to do with wheel offset and what you set the alignment spec to (caster mainly). I'm running 285/70R17 BfG tires with Walker Evan rims. The rims have a zero offset and i had no rubbing what so ever but it was making contact with the brake caliper. I just installed an All Pro 1.25 wheel spacers and now I'm rubbing pretty bad on the inner fender flare (closest to the body). I'm gonna have my alignment guy adjust my caster for more on Monday and see if it still rubs. I'll post my results monday
