Every 5,000 miles and I do all five of them. I do it myself as I already know not to trust the numbnuts at the dealership to do them properly and have learned this applies to the tire store where I bought them as well.

Yeah i'll be doing it myself too. I wouldn't work as hard or carefully on other people's vehicles either if I were them and had to do that for a living. I wish I could be honest and say I would, but I'd be lying, haha.

I trust myself with my own vehicle, so If i screw something up I can at least say that its my own fault instead of being mad at someone else.

You will find a lot of people have different opinions on which method you should use to rotate tires. Check out this link to see how Cooper recommends rotating your tires.
    http://us.coopertire.com/Tire-Safety/Tire-Maintenance.aspx

I used to just rotate front to back but I starting having some cupping issues so I now rotate using the criss-cross method shown on Cooper's webside. I also have Cooper AT3s.

I switch between AT and snow tires about every 6 mo /5000 mi, so I just put the tires on a different location the next year, effectively doing the rotation. No abnormal wear issues, though I suspect the snow tires will end up damaged beyond repair long before they wear out. Roads in the winter here have more debris. I picked up two punctures in the last winter alone.

I'm sorry if I'm being stupid, but what is "cupping"?

I've never heard that. Is that excessive wear on the sides or something?

    My House Usually
    LOF & Rotate every 3K.

Haven't even worn through 3/32nds of my MTs in over 13K.

Started at 19/32nds of tread, tread gauge was just above the 16/32nds mark at the last LOF/Rotate.

    MTs on @ 52K, now around 63.7K

I check the balance pretty much every time to.

So, how do you guys rotate your tires? Front to back, or the "Recommended" way?

Everyone in my family swears up and down that rotating side to side will definitely scallop your tires.

Interesting, will like see what people say also. My tire guy says front to back is good, that cross over is an old school thing? My Coopers say cross over, according to information kindly passed onto me here, thanks again for that post. Now lets see where it goes.
