is it true that TRD only makes up to 17' rims?
i like the look of a lot of the rims but am looking to go 18'.
anyone know of an aftermarket that "replicates" them?
thanks. sorry if these are dumb questions... sort of new to the taco world.

Most aftermarket wheels have a model that fits our trucks, in any size. If you are just looking to run 265's, look for a wheel that is 7-8" wide, with between 4.5 and 5.5 backspacing, with a 6 x 5.5 or 6 x 139.7 bolt pattern, and it will fit your truck.

and to answer your first question, some of the 2012 sports come with 18's

Go to these links to read up on your stock rims and learn about backspacing, offset, and wheel width.

I assume that when you say 'replicate' the wheel, you just want a new aftermarket wheel appearance without moving the tires closer or farther away from the center of the truck.

As you can see, backspacing changes with rim width, so backspacing is variable depending on what width you're looking at. Common widths are 7", 8", and 9".

The key to determining if your tires will rub is knowing the wheel 'offset'. If you know your wheel offset, you can compute where your tire will be with respect to the UCA and fenders. Offset is just the distance between the hub mounting surface and the Centerline of the wheel. So the offset + 1/2 tire width is where the edge of your tire will be with respect to the hub mounting surface (be mindful of + or - offsets).

Read up and it'll all become clear.
