    Usually a good swift kick to the tire works for me.

    After spending some large amount of time comparing online deals;
    Sears has what seems to be the best one.
    Though the price per tire is a little high compared to some, they ship free to a store near you, and their price with mount, valve stems and lifetime balance comes to right at $1100 for 5.

    So; I'm ordering this weekend. Takes 6-8 days to get delivered to your store.

    So I got wheels off and new rim/installed. Rims are level 8 trackers, 16x8.5 with 265/75's. I have put about 300 miles on the tires already and the only thing I can comment on is in pavement I would NOT call these loud at all. If I listen for them I can hear them a SLIGHT hum when coming to a stop. There is a slight dirt hill behind my house the the BFG AT's would just sit and spin. These spun slight but never lost forward progress. I was impressed, I can't wait to actually get them dirty.

    I finally got these tires a little dirty and I am a VERY pleased with them. I do not go 'mudding' but as u can see, do gather firewood in some 'not so easy access' areas. With my old BFG AT Ko's I would have to get straps and/or the high lift out but the Maxx's just kept digging in. I have literally gotten stuck in 1-2" of slick mud with the BFG but yesterday and today the Maxx's just kept forward momentum and we kept inching along. I was amazed! In the deep mud I had an empty trailer (about 1200 lbs), in the last pic I was 1/2, maybe 3/4 loaded which would be around 2500-3000 lb. Didnt take it loaded down through the deeper mud, but still a lot of long sections on 3-4" of slick mud 10-20 yards long.ehyqu3e3_81566ddb3cd30cbb9c294a5e0f5777c22a518cfd.jpghe4edy4u_057de7674cadfaa336a9bcfe2ad1d37a322b2c4d.jpge9uma5ys_d0fc751db2e6453d08ae8c79c4e029f911556664.jpg

    I got some 265/75/16's on Friday. I haven't gotten them dirty yet, but as far as on road performance I'm a fan. Not noisy and have good highway manners. They look great too. I'll update when I get to play around with them a bit. I paid 844 mounted and balanced for 4. Lifetime rotations and flat repair.

    BFG KO's suck in the snow, the coopers are actually a good working tire in the snow, and no as loud on the street.

    I'll agree the BFG MT KO weren't good in the snow;
    I thought the BFG AT KO were really pretty good in snow.

    I'm glad to hear the Coopers work well in street snow, thanks

    If they work anywhere near as good in snow as they do in mud, they will be awesome. I was nothing but disappointed when it came to BFG AT's and traction.

    Yessir, the BFG AT is not a mud tire.
    It is good on asphalt, rocky terrain, and snow, at least, they were for me.

    Also, in my view;
    there's a big diff between "trail snow and street snow"
    where clearing the tire out like mud out of an MT is important on the trail
    but leaving some in on the street like an AT seems to work on pavement

    I'm no tire engineer......

    Put these on over the weekend, 265/75/16 on stock wheels and suspension. No rub at all and they feel much smoother than the rugged fails on the road. Great tire! Can't wait for some snow.

    I replaced a set of 265/70/16 BFG KO's with a set of 265/75/16 ST MAXX's. I have about 2000 miles on them and road handling is well below the BFG's. Louder too. I'm sure offroad will be an improvement. Undecided on the trade though. Missing the BFG's.

    I hate my BFG's, I love the 255/80/17 option in these tires. I like what I've heard so it's between these and some duratracs...

    Well I finally got a set on order from my local cooper service... Should be here next Tuesday, right now I'm running the cooper AT3 and it's a outstanding tire, moves water like crazy, great on road, did decent in snow, but not that great In The mud/field so I figure I'd step up to the ST Maxx... I hope the maxx will be as good or better than the at3 on the road/dry and wet pavement

    Anybody running the ST Maxx in a 285 75r/16? If so what was your previous tire, current build, and impressions thus far. Thanks.

    I have a 3" OME suspension lift, dakars, SPC LR UCA's and FJ TRD Wheels.

    I killed one of my Discovery ST 255's last weekend at the top or Rollins Pass. It was time for new rubber anyway. The ST Maxx will most likely be my next tire but considering 285's. I live in Northern CO, my truck is my DD and the trails around here are always super rocky, tight and at times very steep. I'm headed to Moab in a few weeks so I need to wrap this up ASAP.

    (I also posted same/similar question in the other ST Maxx Thread)

    Cheers,

    Salt

    I went from 305/60r18 Terra Grapplers to 285/17r16 Maxx's. Even though they're aren't as wide, they are slightly heavier and more aggressive, so I've lost 1~2mpgs. They have a small hum at highways speeds, but nothing bad. I have yet to try these in sand, but they've performed well in everything else.

    I have a 3" lift. The front is just spacers above the coil assembly, with LR UCAs. The back is AAL with 1" blocks. My rear shocks are pretty much toast.
