275/65/18 Tires

Can I run 275/65/18 Tires on a 2012 tacoma with a level kit on the front? Wasn't sure if I would have rubbing. I have already taken the mud flaps off.

 

How much lift does the leveling kit provide? I'm running 275/65/18's on 1.75" of lift, with 18x9, 5.4" backspaced wheels, and had to do some minor trimming to avoid rubbing.

 

I have a 2.5 inch level but the problem maybe that I would be putting the tires on the stock 18" crome clad wheels for now. I found the Tires (BFG TA's) for a great price $500 with 90% tread so i was thinking getting them and then getting new wheels in the spring. I know 265's will fit on stock wheels but wasn't sure if the 275's would rub.

 

TW member TeamFast put 275/70/17's on his stock sport wheels and they rubbed the UCA at ful lock.

Since these are 65's and not 70's but both are 275's it will probably still rub a bit even know they are not as big. I basically drive on the street and no offroading as of now. Do you think I would be good until the spring time until I got new wheels or do you think it would not be good. thanks for your help KPT..

 

I think you still might rub the UCA because the 275/70/17's and the 275/65/18's are basically the exact same size.



I'm able to pull it off, even with 5.4" backspaced wheels, because my wheels are 9" wide and pull the tire away from the UCA more than a stock 7-7.5" wide wheel.

 

Do you think it would be safe to run these tires on the 7.5 inch wide wheels?
If they did rub could I add 1.25 inch spacers? sorry about all the questions just new to all of this.

 

The tire manufacturers website lists the approved wheel widths for each of their tire sizes under "specs" for the tire. 1.25" spacers should do the trick.

 

I did a 2 1/2" Lift on a 2011 DC Prerunner

275x65x18 on 18x9 rims it perfectly with 0 offset. No rubbing and kept the mudflaps.
