"Possible tire rubbing question"

This question has no doubt been asked several times before. Being new to Tacoma World, you guys be gentle. Here's my question. I presently have a 2007 DCSB with stock 17" wheels running 275/65/17's. Bilstein 5100 series adjustable shocks with Eibach coilover. I have a set of FJ Limited Anthracite 16" wheels that I would like to run 285/75/16 tires. Am I going to have some rubbing issues? Thanks in advance.

Yes.

If you don't "need" 285's do not get them.

 

My truck never sees the trail. I just wanted a beefer look. So are you suggesting that I stay with the 275's?

 

285's can require a good deal of modifications in order to stop rubbing. This can and almost always requires a cab mount chop for the fellows who off road. Search "cab mount chop" for reference.

Personally I am not a fan of 285's. To gain height/clearance I chose to go with 255/85/16. This size requires less mods and in most instances are a taller tire then a 285. Do you mean 265/70/17 OP ?

 

I ended up getting a set of Cooper Discover A/T3's 265/70/16. Nice ride and nice look. Thanks again for the help.
