Know it isn't on the list...what about Firestone MT's? Are they any good?

Thanks.

i just ordered myself some of the dick cepek mud country's. the majority of the reviews are great, nice 3 ply sidewalls, nice channel down the centre of the tire and some siping.

well i will be able to give an initial review of road manners in a couple weeks, will be doing 2 700 mile trips. i nancied out and just got the 265's, for the price difference to go up to the 285's and the need for new wheels and the cab mount (i don't weld..) i will spend the difference on the warn m6000 spd that i've had my eye on. should do the trick on my reg cab!

i've heard mixed opinions on the mickey thompsons, though nothing bad, just a couple guys preferred their pre or post to these tires for personal preference.

the dick cepeks are made by mickey thompson and are not an off brand discount type tire.

Ok great, let me know how they do. Are you still running stock wheels? I need 285s and I'm pretty sure they will fit my 17x9s

Yes still running stock steel wheels, 16's. just noticed the 17's in the mud country are a 33x12.5, a little wider than the 285/75/16's i was thinking of.

I went from 285 75r16s to 33 12.50s, love the wider stance. They're about the same height but the 285s are about an inch narrow-er

well after putting about 2000km on my dick cepeks they are a great tire on the road, not loud (yet... i'm sure they will get louder as time passes) road manners are great, no vibes, very smooth. the shop had them inflated to about 29psi, my gas mileage suffered but the sure were smooth. bumped up to 40 front and 38 rear and saved 2 litres per 100km right away. haven't had a chance to wheel yet since it is as cold as fawk where i live, seems like the season is going the wrong direction.. but it will be muddy very soon!

got truck back after an extended stay in the dealers body shop.... here's a couple pics. 265/75/16 on stock wheels with full OME lift using sky jacker rear shocks that are an inch longer than the OME rear shocks. i really like these tires on the street, night and day difference in a positive way over my previous goodyear territory 235/85/16's. very smooth and vibe free, no complaints at all, did a 600 mile drive yesterday and just great, was snowing and wet at the end of the ride and no issues in wet shat conditions. haven't had a chance to wheel the tires yet since winter seems to refuse to stop where i'm living but am expecting good performance. the best comparison tire in my experiences would be the interco ssr's i ran on a previous dd wheeling truck. those tires were sick, had they came in dimensions i liked better for may tacoma i would have went with them.

I think my next set of tires will be the Kenda Klever MT. No one has heard of them, but the reviews on them are pretty good. I've seen them on one Taco and they look good.
