    :)
Alright everyone would really love some thoughts and advice on wheel painting. I've got some 16" steelies with Nitto TerraGraps that I've had on my T100 for several years. I painted them black 5 years ago and clearcoated and the finish held up and looked decent.
So anyway in the midst of switching around wheels on our 3 Toy 4x4s I decided to throw these on the Taco for a while because the current Duratracs are at 55k and vibes are driving me nuts. So naturally, I decided to clean em up and paint and go with a gunmetal type finish.
So I've powerwashed, dried, sanded and wiped down with alchohol.
    Here's my question:
There are several rock chips obviously, but none with too much step-off thickness wise. My inclination was to go ahead and paint, but now I'm questioning whether or not I should prime first???
I've got self etching and filler type.
What say you TW? Advice please.......I appreciate input.

Oh and my priority is durability over appearance ;)

I am no paint expert at all but i would prime first with self etching primer. If you want a really nice finish you could do self etching, then filler primer and wetsand before the topcoat

DuraTrac Cs and alloys = 47 pounds.
TG Es and steelies = 75 pounds.
    Both 265-75-16.
Think my mpgs will take a hit?
