I found this out too late in the life of my tires, but i'll apply this knowledge towards the next set. stock psi setting on my standard cab 4x4 says 29 psi in the doors for the 245 75 16's. i've upgraded to p series hankook dynapros 265 70 16. the tire shop inflated them to 35 psi. i tried that for a while and they were wearing quickly right down the middle. so therefore they were over inflated. i dropped it back down to the stock psi between 29 and 30. still wearing over inflated. i found the sweet spot of even wear at 26-27 psi front 25-26 psi rear. with the tire pressures this low, the truck seems to wander a bit while driving down the road. aired up higher, the truck drove straight and felt solid. so....do i keep the tires aired up higher and wear them down faster, or do i keep them how i have it and get longer life from the tires but have that "wandering" feeling while driving down the road?

What model do you have? 4 cylinder, AC/DC, etc? For a V6, 4wd, 26-27 psi is too low in my opinion but each vehicle and tire is different. I'd keep them between 28 and 30 psi so it handles correctly (maybe leave the rear a little lower if you are unloaded).

I have the 2.7L access cab w/ 265/70/16 C-rated BFGs. I keep them right at 30 front & back, wearing perfectly evenly, and a nice ride.

Tires and weight of truck make a big difference. I have 265/70/16 in load range D. Door sticker says 46. I have kept 46 in them and just passed 65k with even wear. I could probably make 75k before they got to the wear bands but I will replace before deer season. Ranch roads really chew tires up.
