    My bride has a 2008 RAV4 with 16" rims and P215/70R16 tires.
    I have a 2006 Tacoma with 15" rims and P215/70R15 tires.
Our Roadtrek RV has 225/75R16 -E115R tires.
Hurricane Irene drowned the Roadtrek just after buying 4 new Firestone Destination 10 ply tires and new American Racing wheels.

My question is can I put my 15" Tacoma rims and tires on my Wife's RAV4 and her RAV4 16" rims on my Tacoma with the Roadtrek's new 225/75R16 tires which are about 10% larger than the Tacoma tires according to the tire calculator?

If the RAV4 rims will fit on the Tacoma, the next question is will the Roadtrek tires fit in the wheel wells without rubbing?

The center bore of a 2008 rav 4 is 60.1mm with an offset of +45. Lug pattern of 5x 114.3.
the tacomas bore is supposedly 60.1 in 2nd gen tacomas. (67.1 in first gen). with an offset of +35 and the same lug pattern. So Basically check to see if the wheels from the rav fit on the taco. Idk about the rv tires fitting without rubbing. The rav 4 wheels have slightly less offset. you should search the site for a 2wd build thread and ask their opinion

Thanks, does the larger offset number on the RAV4 mean the tire footprint is wider on the RAV4 than the Tacoma or more narrow?

Negative offset is further out, the tires would be further in, making them more likely to rub also

    Hi,
Im not sure how a 2006 2 wd differs from a 98 2 wd, but on my 98, the Original diameter of the factory 14" rim and 215/70/R14 tire was 25.85 inches so your diameter is 1 inch more for the 15" rim, so that is a 26.85 inch diameter for what you have now.

Here is the equation to get the diameter of a rim/tire combo:

If you go to a 16" rim and 225/75/16 tire:
    225mm x 75%= 168.75 mm (one side tire height) =6.64 inches x 2 = 13.28 inches
    + 16 =(rim size)= 29.28 inch total diameter.

So it would be 29.28" total diameter (height) instead of 26.85" inches for your 15" rims and 215/70/R15 tires.

    + 2.43 inches in diameter.

I tried a 15" rim on mine with this same tire except in 15 size, 22575R15 and it fit, and I could Turn without rubbing, but it bottomed out in the front if there was any dip in a driveway, etc., so I put 215/65/R15's on the front which have a 26" diameter (almost exactly the same diameter of the original 14" rims/tires, just 0.15" difference) and kept the 225/75/R15's on the back and that worked great.

I also had 16" rims that fit great with 25/55/R16 tires (25.75" diameter, so again, almost original diameter). I just didnt like the ride as much with the lower profile tires.

5 lug Mustang wheels from 1994 + fit mine,( 1st gen 2wd) 5 x 4.5 pattern and have a large bore and large offset
, not sure if they fit newer tacomas that are 5 lug.

Hope that helps and not too confusing, I wish I knew some of this stuff before I started looking for rims. Ive got so many ri s and tires in my carport now, I need to open a store.

Fyi: my photo is the 2002 16 inch Mustang alloys with the 22555R16 tires.
    Looked pretty nice.

Thanks, I actually had to get to a Vice President in Chrysler to figure out what the specs were on the Roadtrek which is a Dodge B-350 base so I know how confusing it can be. I guess the bottom line is to try it!

Yes, the RAV4 16" rims will fit on the Tacoma with the LT225/75 R16 tires. Not so lucky with the Tacoma 15" rims fitting the RAV4. I had to take a grinder and trim a bit off the front and rear calipers which were hitting the inside of the 15" rims and add one large 1/8" washer to each stud before everything fit without hitting.
