Trim Question 33's

I am getting some 285/75/16 km2 and am wondering how much I am going to have to trim? Anyone have pics of what they had to trim away? Will I be able to get home from the tire store or should I trim it first? Any info would be cool thanks

 

You could do some trimming first. Every tire will be slightly taller/shorter.
You could do all this cutting with a razor knife.
First off I removed the big square nub in front.

Where I cut and zip tied to make sure it wouldn't rub.

Here is the little bit I had to trim near the firewall. Drive a little and cut.

I don't disagree with chris but that damn nub will make a helluva noise, mine did.

Will they rub going straight or just when I make turns?

 

Sorry I had gone to bed, chris did it again.

 

On mine I did not have to trim as much as luk did, I did remove part of the knob hanging down up front, basically an inch tapered down to 1/8 in the front. The flare only a little, no issues to date.
