Re-calibrate speedometer

Hey guys, im new to this website but from the looks of it everyone is very helpful. I have the 2013 access cab 2wd with 215/70r15 tires on it and I want to put the 235/75 r 15 on there to beef it up a little. question is since the truck is brand new I want to do it right. anyone know how to recalibrate the speedometer to match the wheel change?

 

That should actually almost perfectly adjust your speedometer to read correct.

You should check your current speed with a gps. Mine reads about 5% slow or when the speedometer is showing 60 it is really 57.

Going to 235/75/15 is about 7.6% different, so no really need to recalibrate, 60 would be really 61.

I can second that opinion. 235/75R15 puts my speed dead-on with GPS and radar speed monitors.

The only "issue" is that your odometer will now be under reporting by 7%.

The speedometer reads fast stock, but the odometer/trip is accurate. With the new tires your speedometer will be correct, but after traveling 100 miles your odometer will only show that you drove 93, so its a win win situation. When you reach the end of your 36k warranty you will have actually driven a little over 38k

See this is the exact thing that I question about my stealer giving me a hard time on.

 

would there be anywhere I can go to get it calibrated accordingly? I went to mavis discount tire today and put the goodyear wrangler radials 235/75r15 on the truck today and he had no idea on how to calibrate it accordingly so I don't know where to go if I choose to do it
