Hello all! Purchased my first Tacoma, a 2013 access cab 4x4. I had a question about tire size... I have read that a 265/70/17 will fit without rub on the stock suspension/wheels... but... I purchased a set of 17" FJ Cruiser takeoff alloys (under 500 miles and have proper TPMS on the way) with Dunlop tires from a local gentleman at a great price. I know the backspacing is different and will set the wheel slightly wider than the stock steels... will this negatively affect my ability to run 265/70/17? Should I play it safe and run 255/70/17 instead? Appreciate any info. Here is a pic of the wheel... I see that others on TW are running these FJ wheels and may be able to share their experience. Thanks!

Maybe I was too flappy in the OP... so, will the different offset of the above 17x7.5 FJ Cruiser wheels (+15 offset? Not entirely sure on that number) affect my ability to still run 260/70/17 on stock suspension (2013 access cab 4x)?

You should be fine. If you get the tires from Discount Tire you can ask them to turn lock to lock to make sure there is no rubbing before you make a decision.

Thanks, Large! Figured I should be okay. Suppose I can go on down to America's tire and have them throw on the front wheels with stock 265/70 Dunlops and see if they rub at lock. Appreciated!

*Edit Went down to America's Tire and ordered a set of Hankook DynaPro ATM RF10 in 265/70/17. They'll go on tomorrow.

Please report back when you get your tires to let us know. I am looking at the same rims from a coworker and I definitely don't want to go to 255, especially since he would sell them to me with 265s that are brand new.

Well, they are on. No rubbing. Here are a few quick/bad cell phone pics. The last two show the front wheels near lock. Wheels clear the mud flaps, but not sure how the flaps will fare if driving trails, etc. Should be fine. I like how they turned out! Again, appreciate the info! Thanks!

looks good. imo, i think this is tied for the nicest oem wheel on a tacoma; the other being 06-09 4runner limited 18" rims.

I've been eye-balling those rims for my taco for a while. I like them more than the trail team fj wheels. I'm just not sure it would look good with the barcelona red. :/ They look great on your truck though.

Thanks guys! Rooster, I think the gray color of the wheels would look pretty good on red.
