over inflated tires.

I got a nail in my tire and needed to have it patched. the guy that patched it said all my tires were over inflated by 10lbs, so he set the pressure in all my tires.I don't know how they could of been over inflated I got it brand new in January and never touched my tires until now. shouldn't the dealer have picked up on this before letting me drive off the day I bought it?

Well, that's about what they should be set at... so yeah, sounds like the dealership didn't check it when it left the lot or the other shop is exaggerating.

possibly warming up in your area can cause the pressure to go up because the air expands with warmer temps

 

In CA, idk about other states, all the auto shops have to check tire pressure and most cars are aired over i think it gives the false "Good MPG"

If they're the p rated stock tires check the door jam sticker for the best psi. I've got light truck e rated tires and 40 psi is even too much for them (with no load.)

 

The dealership routinely overinflates mine to 40psi. I have to tell them specifically the proper PSI (26 front, 29 rear) even though it is plainly printed on the sticker in the doorjamb...

Seems to me it would depend more on the specific tires being used and user preference rather than what's on a door jamb anyway.

That's way too low and backwards. For an unloaded truck, you want the front higher than the rear. 30 - 32 on the front and 28 - 30 in the rear for an unloaded Tacoma on stock tires works pretty well.

I also tell the dealership not to touch anything besides what the truck is there for.

 

Do you have the tires that came with the truck? Because it took a few times for the techs to realize I had different tires so they couldn't go by the door sticker.
