BFG AT's 265/70/17 on a stock gen2?

Anyone running this size of bfg at KO on a stock gen 2 taco? With these tires having stuff a square shoulder to the tread, seems they will come very close to rubbing when the steering is turned.

 

Should be okay.
Remove the mudflaps.

 

Have you actually ran this tire in this size? Looking for people who have done it.

 

I have without a problem. I am lifted 3" now, but originally ran those tires on stock sport rims, no rub.

edit : and stock suspension.

Stock is a 65 profile, but I want to do 70 so I can get the load range C tires instead of E.

This is the size and Tire that I'm running without a lift. They came on the truck when I bought it. The front was demudflapped though so there might have been some slight rubbing but it doesn't look like there could have been too much.

BFG AT's 265/70/17 are fine with stock wheels and factory suspension. I ran that the day I drove my truck off the lot. Changed the wheels which had a different offset and it rubbed.

 

Glad to help. The load C BFG's are nice tires. A bit stiffer than the P rated stockers, but a much nicer performance overall and The 70 profiles improve the trucks appearance imo. I suspect you will be pleased with your choice.

Don't worry about it. While this place is full of helpful, knowledgeable folks, there are also a fair number of guys with attitude issues who go out of their way to ride people.

I just had Duratracs installed yesterday in that size. With the wheel cranked all the way to the left and going in reverse, I rub on the mini-mudflap on the passenger side that is on the front of the wheel well. Only issue i've come across so far. Doesn't do it on the driver's side some reason.

 

Ive got 265/75 16 on my 12, OR wheels, and a buddy has 265/70 17 on sport rims on his 12. Both of us have stock suspension. We both trimmed the mudflaps and removed the small flaps in the front of the wheel well on the bottom of the bumper. No rubbing for either of us.

 

My tire shop just ordered the same tires for me and they are supposed to be mounted next week. Can't wait!!!

Next purchase will be the SCS 6's!!!

 

i had 265-70-17 grabber 2's same tread and size never had any issues however i have 4 runner sr5 rims and the stick out about 1'' more than the stock rims.

 

Waiting for my tire shop to install my BFG's. The stock Dunlops are on their way out the door after 102000km's. Looking forward to seeing the difference.
