I need an all season highway tire. I don't want to spend a LOT of money so super high end tires are probably out (Aka Michelin LTX, Continental VancoFourSeason, etc).
This is for the stock 4x4 size, 245-75-R16. Toyota specs standard load index (109S) so I don't need anything with crazy ply numbers either.
These are some of the tires I have been considering:
General Grabber HTS- LT tire, 120S, BW, 45K/6 yrs. manufacturer defect: $105 each
General Grabber AW- 109S, BW, 6 yrs manu. defect: $59.29 each
Yokohama Geolander- 109S, OWL, 60K/5 yrs. manu. defect: $89.83 each
Dunlop GrandTrek- 109S, BW, 60K/6 yrs. manu. defect: $69.76 each
So can I do better than those GrandTreks?
Of the others I'm considering, in your opinions, are any actually good? If not, are there others I should consider?
The Grabber HTS is an LRR tire so it would give me a small MPG boost. But LRR tires have harder rubber compounds so I'm unsure that it would be okay in the winter.
