I have OEM 17-inch alum wheels on an 07 4X4. I needed the longer studs because the 1.25-inch SpiderTrax spacer was too wide for the stock studs. However, these extended studs portruded about 3/8" outside the spacer. Lucky for me, my OEM wheels have a half-inch opening on the backside of the wheels allowing the studs to slip in nicely.

The issue with these studs (and I informed the seller) is that they came all loose in a bag. About half of the studs needed the threads cleaned up with a die. After that I have had no problems. I installed them in Jan and have gone on several off-road excursions with no problems.

That's great. Sounds like you have a nice set-up. I truly appreciate the info.

    Great links guys.

Question, do the second gens used the same lug sizes for 2wd and 4wd? I have a 2wd that I need to replace around all four corners.

Yup. Same exact lug nuts for the 2wd & 4wd.

I'm running aftermarket alloys with Gorilla acorn lug nuts on the stock wheel studs. I think I should get longer studs, but which length should I get?

Here's a picture showing the depth of thread being used. I'd like to have the studs run farther into the lug nuts.

Bumping an old ass thread instead of creating a new one... @Wishbone Runner how are those studs working out now that it's been a few years? I'm looking at doing the same on my 1st gen Tacoma. Do you happen to remember where you bought the splined open lug nuts from? I'm assuming your are ET. Thanks for the help.

I’ve since gotten new hubs with longer studs, but I believe they are the same studs in said hubs, and have been great! Running 3/4” BORA spacers with them now and have never come loose. Not ET, just gorilla conical splined lugs. Would recommend.

Awesome! Thanks man. I just ordered the studs now from AutoZone.com and also ended up just getting some ET open nuts as well. I'm hoping everything comes in before the weekend. Thanks again for the feedback

I’m going to run the longer Dorman studs with gorilla Extended lug nuts on aftermarket wheels hopefully they hold up well...

When I installed mine, I ended up not being able to use the ET lug nuts because they bottomed out on the higher shoulder on the longer studs. I still get more thread this way than I did with ET nuts and the original shorty studs.

    Hello,
Are you running the 3/4” BORA spacers that slide-on to the studs or the bolt-on adapters?
    Thank you.

It looks like that will be the way to go as well. I was focusing on the slide-on type and stressing about “6 extra studs/nuts” but the truth is that these things don’t budge once they are properly installed. When I started this thread I had an ‘08 Prerunner. Now I have a ‘15 TRD O/R. On my current truck I have 17” 4Runner Trail wheels which sit flush with the fenders so I may get the 1” BORA’s over the 1.25” Spidertrax. Do the stock studs have enough thread to properly engage the BORA spacers?

Not sure about the stock studs, haven’t had them for awhile.

I'm actually waiting to hear from motorsportjr@gmail.com on the .75" set.
Have the same concerns..though haven't found anyone who's run into issues with thread length on <1" spacers on stock SR5 wheels.

We'll see. May call them instead.. I'm an impatient little turd.

edit: the warehouse is moving, they hope to have Sales on the phones tomorrow, 8/4/20. No calls accepted today.
