Most any ALL-TERRAIN tire will do. Won't hit too much mud and snow in the desert. I really like my Michelins, very grippy AT's, and quiet on the highway.

I have had horrible luck with the BFG A/T. Chunking, poor traction, and short life span, and that's not just on my patrol vehicles.

As far as all-terrains, I've had pretty good luck with the Hercules Terra Trac A/T and Goodyear Wrangler Authority.
