I am up to 55k on the original Dunlops. I am getting close to replacing them.

Any suggestions for a tire that will last for a lot of miles (long commute), give pretty good gas mileage and something I can very occasionally use on very, very light off-road use (rough fire roads, a little sand, etc - nothing technical or very serious). It will primarily be a commute tire. I live in CA, so no snow.

    Thanks!

what size are you running? the best mileage and longevity will come from touring tires, but that will limit your off road and towing/ hauling.

I have both the LS2 Michelin highway tire and the AT2. Performance was out of this world, I mean I've been through lots of tires but these two were like no other sets. They make the truck ride like a car, the handling is amazing both wet and dry.

look around on websites like tire rack or what ever but look at highway all season tires with high tread wear rating numbers 400 and up. there are tires like the general grabber hts that have a tread wear of 640 that are also low rolling resistance tires. that will get you the best mileage and longevity.
