So I have a 2009 TRD off road, and I recently bought a set of 16'' steel wheels but they hit the calipers. I have read some post about this and it is my understanding that most 16'' wheel have this problem with the TRD package due to the increase in break system size. So I am hoping to find some 16'' wheels that you guys have used that fit without rubbing the calipers on the TRD package.

The Wheels I recently bought had a backspacing of 4 which I wanted to help with when I put a lift in later, but this didn't even seem to help with the rubbing. That being said I could use wheel spacers but I did some measurement and I would need about an inch spacer. Combine that inch with the 4 inch backspacing and I dont want the tires to stick out that far.

So I am just looking for wheels that will clear the calipers and that have a backspacing of 4.5 to 4

    You didn't specify:
    1) How much lift
    2) Tire size you will be using

There are multitudes of 16" wheels that will work w/o spacers and clear calipers.

    I run (17x9) 5" BS w 0 offset, 265/70/17 and have a nice stance w/ no rubbing on a 2.5" lift.

Anything from Discount tire listed on website for your truck is guaranteed to fit.

Look at other builds and wheel size to determine your needs/wants.

Way too many choices out there....

I'm confused here, but tire size and lift make a difference with rims clearing calipers?

If you want a good wheel. I ran the Ivan Stewarts on my 2005 TRD with the billstein 5100 adjusted all the up and a 275/65/16 wrangler mud tire. They cleared the calipers although it was close enough the stick on wheel weights grapped them. So what ever wheel you get keep an eye on that. I picked up my Ivan stewarts brand new from the dealership for 180 each. That will work with you on pricing they did me (originally 250).

The level 8 wheels I have are 16s, and they clear the caliper. Backspacing is 4.5 if I remember correctly.
