My '07 TRD DC has a front 3" spacer lift and a rear add-a-leaf (which I think is 1.75") and I want new and larger tires.

So I would like to get the largest and widest tires I can on my stock TRD rims (16X7) without having to do any trimming or rubbing. I had been shopping for 285/75s when I found a forum that have me the impression that even with my current lift these tires would be too large.

Has this been the experience others have had? Would a shorter sidewall (70) make a difference? Would 275/70 be the largest I could get (BFG All-Terrain T/A KO for example)? Other suggestions?

    Thanks!

You will need wheel spacers to run 285's with stock wheels

Do you think a 275 will fit w/o spacers?

Follow-up question: if I do spacers how big (e.g. 1.25") of a spacer world I need to accommodate 285s?

First month of ownership... This month I'm removing front air dam, and also Rhino lining the bed.
Consider 265s. I've got a 3" lift and run BFG TA KO 265/75 r16, Load range E. On my stock rims.

A little thinner (no rubbing and better mpg) then what you are considering, but they are very smooth on pavement and very capable off road. I got just over 50k on my last set and they were still legal tread depth.

I'm currently running ATm 265 75 16s and have been satisfied with their performance but would really like a wider tire and/or the wheels/tires closer to flush with the fenders. I also really like the Trail Grapplers and they only come in the larger sizes (275 or 285)...
