Okay so I just picked up a 2014 RC Tacoma 4x4 this last week and I ordered a 3" lift and I am going to be buying new wheels and tires for it this coming week.

I really want to get some 16" Pro Comp series 51's but I am being told that they will not fit.

If I were to use 1.25 Spidertrax wheel spacers, would the wheel have enough clearance?

Here's the link for the wheels.

    I think the only reason they wouldn't fit is because it's for a 5-lug. You're truck is a 6-lug.

They are 6x5.5 in the details. They would need the spacers to clear the calipers...otherwise the 'D' windows would hit.

Just need to see, depending on tire size, if pushing them out another 1.25" will cause too much rubbing

Pretty sure that's just the pic. Specs say:
    Technical Details
    • Wheel Size: 16x8
    • Bolt Pattern: 6 on 5.5
    • Backspace: 4.25
    • Max Load: 2000
    • Finish: Gloss black
    • Center Caps and Lug Nuts Not Included
    • Replacement Center Cap Part Number: PXA1425018
    Seems like they'd fit.:notsure:

My bad. I'm in school and didn't really read the details. I just saw the pic. Since they're 6 lug, why wouldn't they fit?

No worries. Maybe the issue stated above with the actual shape of the"D" window and the caliper.
OP, see if they'll let you do a test fit of just the wheel at a 4wp.

Right...the 87 can be had with a special part number that has a T at the end for Toyota...it flares out more right after the mounting surface to clear the brake calipers. It is mainly the fact the D windows are stamped in there and that makes them stick in a lot compared to the round 87s.

These are actually 52s I think but the center is the same... you can see even with a spacer the caliper is right there.

And the 87s that fit w/o spacers

Now in 17" I dont think any of this matters...lots of extra room i think at that size.

I see lots of talk on the 16", but not too much on 17"
    I think I'm gonna guinea pig the 17" D window, p/n PCW51-7983
and see what happens, I am scared to run spacers but w/ the cost and look, I'll give it a try...

Hey you guise! i just found this thread and i'm here to beat the dead horse! Let's say i'm running a "leveling" kit and a set of 285-75/16 tires, can i get these (pro comp 87-6883T) to clear the upper a arm without using a crappy wheel spacer? i'm using the stock wheels and one of those stupid stupid wheel spacers from auto zone. -i didn't install it, the used lot i got my truck from did- i just want some steelies that will fit without using spacers.

Collecting up a set of wheels used for spare tires could work for you.

i've thought about that, but wouldn't the spare steels have the same offset/backspace? that would put my tires almost in contact with the UCA. if my stock wheels fit i would probably just keep them, even though they're beat up and ugly. I'm trying to avoid spider trax, etc.

Probably. I forgot the bigger tires. It's early.

    KOs 285,
I am running LT285/75R16 AT TAKO2 RWL. I had to install Bilstein 5100 shocks at highest settings and trim part of the inside of my front bumper to stop the rubbing. I wanted the 16 cause I wanted taller wall on tire. I could go one size bigger on the tires with my wheels but I would have to do a couple more mods to fit them in the truck. So far I have been able to tackle most challenges in the desert with out issues.

How much did the Bilstein raise you up? Mine is just on blocks but the tire Gap looks similar. I'm fine with trimming the inside plastics.
