Have a real dilemma here and was hoping TW could help me!!

    Option #1 - with 285 Duratracs

Option #2 - Stock "derped" OEM rims with 285 Duratracs

    Pros:

I really like the features of the steelies:

    - "The wheels have larger bead retention grooves to assist bead retention at low tire operating pressures." (not sure how many times per year I will be wheeling, however, I love the peace of mind.)

    - "These wheels clear the brake calipers which has been an issue with replacement wheels on these trucks."

    - For the price of the steelies, they have the look I'm going for.

    - Steelies are DOT approved

    Concerns:

    - Anyone have issues running low tire pressure on Stock OEM rims? (this is basically my deciding factor at the moment )

    - Will the TPMS work with the steelies?

    - option #2 is cheaper (though, money isn't that big of an issue)

    - steel vs. alloy in regards to weight

    Please help and discuss!

The stock sport rims hold the bead really well and I'm sure the offroad rims will do the same. Let me see if I can find the picture of Colin flexing his sidewall for you.

My opinion is to save your wheel money for other mods. Derp the wheels and be done with it.

Edit: This isn't the pic I was looking for, but it gives you a good idea.

I was looking for an example to get an idea of how low I can go...this is what I was looking for! Any idea what PSI he was running?

I typically run 15psi in my grabbers and have run as low as 10psi. At 10psi the sidewalls flex a little too much for my taste.

I've seen Colin run 8psi and not have a problem. That wasn't intentional as the tire deflator had a mind of it's own that day.

The wheeler's steelies have different backspacing which will give the truck a wider stance than with the stock wheels, so if that's something you want I'd vote option #1
