I have the stock steel rims on my 09 DCSB 4X4. I lost another one of those damn 6 lug center cap/hub caps. I lost one in the past and paid for a replacement. Now I have lost another one...

Which brings me to my question...

Do I really NEED these caps? Do they serve a purpose? Or are they just a cheap plastic decoration?

My OCD side wants all of my wheels to match. Since I keep losing them, I want to just pull them all off.

    What do you guys think?

You can usually find them fairly cheap used. I just got a set of 4 for $25 shipped.

Another way to approach the question: Any advantage in having them OFF, I don't know, crud accumulating inside or such?

    Check the TTORA Garage Section....
If you really wheel - - then no, leave them off.
    Otherwise buy a replacement.

Look for someone else who lost one and buy the remaining three for cheap. That's what I did. Or, sell you remaining three.

All I did was do a search on TW for "center caps" and found several members selling/giving them. The was one thread recently where a member was offering them for free to help others.

If you still have at least one, "and probably an extra one -for backup-" I can buy them from you. I noticed that on my last fishing trip I lost my first one, and for now I still like to replace it.

    Thanks,
    Regards.
