285/75r16 16x9, -12mm offset and 4.49" BS without modification?

I'm just in a real hurry. I have a 2014 4wd sport. I have but not install a 2" spacer and 1.5" aal. Can I run without modification yokohama geolander 285/75r16 16x9, -12mm offset and 4.49"BS? If modification is needed - please elaborate. I am about to click order so info quick is needed.

Lol im sorry. Had to. But for real they are probably going to be very tight. I run 265/70x17 and i can make them rub with 2.5" of lift in the front and a little flex.

 

So my backspacing or offset won't help moving either way? What would be the next size that would work? This is strictly a pavement pounder. What about a spacer and if so, what size? Please guys, have mercy and help.

Wait a minute, I'm running a 265/65/17 stock with no lift at all or changes and no problems. What gives?

When i say i can make mine rub it is very little and not enough to harm, plus mine didnt rub until i put on spacers. It barely touches the rear of the front flare if the wheels cut right and you flex it. I just telling you from my experience and what i see other guys post. You can probably run them, they will be tight i promise. You can probably get a heat gun and some snips and make it drive able on road. Maybe some one has tried and will see your thread. Just trying to help.

 

I swear this kid down the street who put 285's on his stock TRD OffRoad. I don't think he has enough sense to put any sort of lift and when asked if it rubs his reply was "Yeah but I like how it looks". That what makes me think I can get away with it with some lift.

You can fit 265/70/17 or 265/75/16 with two inches of lift. I have a 3 inch lift and I rub alot when I wheel with 285/70/17s. I cut out most the plastic in the fender and cut and rewelded the body mount on the frame.

 

I have done the same as nick aka mademan. 285/70/17 will need trimming and cab mount chop done if you plan to wheel. if its a mall crawler then you will have vary little to no rub depending on how much caster you do in the front alinement. even after all that i still rub the LCA and frame when stuffed. trimming isn't that bad.

 

He is only going to have 2 inches of lift and stock ucas.

 

with 2" of lift and stock uca, he can max out caster on the lowers and he will still rub when wheeling and probably bash the fender flares right off. but DD he might be all right as long he doesn't hit bumps hard. As Nick said we are running 3" of lift , off road we still rub, even with all the trimming. i still need to trim more.And i have slamed down on the drivers side and all most knocked my fender flare off as the tire rubbed hard.But they do look nice.LOL

Yeah, but ya'll are running 17's (32.7" tall) where as I'm on 16's (31.7" tall). Also what are the benefits of an aftermarket UCA. Also, how difficult are they to install. I've done motors, trans, clutches, axles, etc. just never heavy IFS work.

 

I did a tremendous amount of reading here as i just got a new Tacoma.

With a 3" lift and UCA'S you can run a 285/75-16 tire with minor plastic trimming

That's assuming the following 8"x-16 wheel with 4.5" backspace and 00mm offset Also understanding that not all 285's are the same size and there are ones that exceed 33"

I just ordered method racing wheels in 16x8 4.5" 00mm with Nitto AT 285/75-16 true measure 32.67" diameter. Also installing full 3" lift with UCA'S and with all that still somewhat worried.
Don't see anyway you would get that setup under your truck with no suspension.....sorry to say

 

He can do it!! He is just going to have to trim more then those with 3" lif. hell there are guys running 35s with 3" just got to trim more.

those are from the link he provided. they are taller then the duratracs im running by a 1/10 of in.

 

Guess its all in the definition of "trimming" .......for me that means removing flaps and moderately cutting maybe an inch or two of fender liner.......without suspension lift I'm guessing their definition is removal of all liners and cutting of cab mount etc. I for one would never start cutting into the frame/support metal of my truck. Compromising strength possibly and definitely creating a huge rust issue.

So from my perspective.....no you can't with minor "trimming"

I had quite a bit of rubbing and had to do a lot of trimming to run 285/75/16 Toyo MT's on a 3" spacer lift on my '09 Taco. I was running a wheel with 0 offset and 4.5 backspacing.

 

you want to run those tires as a pavement pounder. if your just mall crawling i would say get a different tire, save some money and get a better lift.

 

Upper uca's will help bring the truck back in to alignment if you are pushing the limit of lift in the front, generally near 3" is where it becomes an issue. They also provide you with a better design upper ball joint that will help any binding of your BJ's when the suspension travels. They are not bad to change, I have never done them on a Taco but have done them on full size trucks. You should not need them with what your trying to do. You ask for it and every one on here has given you solid advice. You want to run them?? Put them on there!!! Let it tear the fender flares off of it. Cause it might do it if you hit the speed bump in the mall parking lot just a little too hard!
