Went from horrible Dunlop grand treks 245/75/16 to Goodyear wrangler authority, 265/75/16 and at full lock the tires rub on stock skid plate. Anyone else have this issue? What did you do to solve? Should I just take it off or can I just cut the wings off? Wings I refer to section hitting tire. Please help!!!!!

    Thanks in advance!

Just bend it by hand. The little wings are flimsy grab and move it.

Really? Bending won't interfere with anything else?

Shouldn't. If it's the wings at the front there is nothing else to rub on.

Yea it's the wings on left and right of the skid so if I bend them up they should be ok. Thanks I guess that was a way easier fix than i thought

shouldn't rub at all. that is weird. maybe lift the front end 1 1/2" would help.

Aren't the authority's a pretty beefy tire? Maybe that's why it rubs. Sub'd, going from 245s to 265s on stock suspension and don't want to rub  I'm getting Firestone Destination A/T's.

What do you have, a base Tacoma?
The Off Road TRD comes with 265/70-16 and I upped those to 265/75-16 to add 1/2" more ground clearance (1" taller tire) and have an accurate speedometer.
NO RUB at all on or off road.

I'm curious about the authority tires. How is the road noise ? How does the tread pattern life ? Any input would be great !! Thanks

Do a search in the Wheels & Tires section. I don't have a direct link, but someone has a long term review going on.
