Any reason you are going to a dealer?

What are they charging you?

I bought Goodyears new Duratrac wranglers. They seem to be a great tire. Paid 134 each. You should check into these as well

After Considerable Research....

I went with the Michelin LTX M/S 285 65 R-16's.
These are supposedly the best choice for the first gen Tacoma. The best choice based on: Ride quality, Durability, Handling, Traction, Rain water displacement. These are very quiet tires as well.

I have been really happy with mine. Maybe my research is now dated. I don't know but I am surprised that I don't see these listed here.

Folks have reported that they get 80K out of these tires. I am probably going to find out!

definetly the grabbers because they are the only all-terrains on the list and the m/t's won't last very long on the road and you wrote that do alot of city driving. The look like BFG A/T's which i think are the best tires ever made for a on/off road mix and they last 60-70k miles!

+2 on the Nitto Terra Grapplers. I love these tires. If you do mostly ON road driving an AT may better suit your needs than a MT. If you are dead set on MT's, go with the Firestone Destinations, Tire Rack #1 tire. Make sure to post pics when you get them!

I'd get the Kumho KL71's or the General AT2's with a lean toward the Kumho's. They'll make your truck look tougher, and I've heard for being a MT that they are very well behaved on the street with good wear characteristics.
