I bit into the PlastiDip apple once and regretted it ever since, but I liked my wheel color. Is powdercoat worth the price at just below $300 for my OEM alloys, or should I just paint them myself? I don't wheel in my 4x2, so that type of durability isn't needed. I've never had anything powdercoated and not sure if it's worth for my highway runner, and I won't see much difference in longevity and durability versus paint

    Any advice?

Sounds like your more of a candidate for paint. I wouldn't powder coat the stock wheels for that price.

Thanks! Figure I could paint for $30 or powder for 10x. I don't want aftermarket wheels either.

Yeah at least see if it meets your needs. If it starts to chip i would say look into powder coating.

300 is cheap for powdercoat... out here most shops get between 400-600
    for wheels...

For alloys you need to use zinc chromate primer for the best mechanical adhesion.

    Napa sells it.
