I'll try and get better pics when it isn't raining here in North Alabama! So far I think they turned out nice and I'm glad I went with the new tire even though they're Rated E. Cant tell a difference so far.

Any word yet on whether these are going to be available as a load-range C tire in the 265/75/r16 size? I'm really not a fan of making my truck needlessly rough. It's actually my cushy vehicle compared to my 2004 STI and I really want to keep it feeling comfortable and reasonable as a DD.

Basically coming down to either load-range C Wrangler Duratracs or these in load-range E. The lack of choices in load range are making it a pretty one-sided debate so far.

I could probably live with the ride quality by just running a slightly lower pressure. I guess I'm really more concerned about adding 6 pounds per corner of rotational weight on a truck that's going to be strictly a DD. It will see offroad conditions but never enough to warrant compromising on-road handling or fuel econonmy.

EDIT: After doing some calculations using this site http://hpwizard.com/rotational-inertia.html it looks like the change in equivalent mass is about 11 pounds per corner. A 44 pound total equivalent mass change is pretty insignificant. I'd still prefer to see a load-range C just because it seems ridiculous running a tire with a load capacity that won't even be exceeding if you some how stand the truck up on 2 wheels and have all the weight on just 2 wheels.

I would think adding 11 lbs of un-sprung weight per corner would be noticeable in terms of acceleration/deceleration.

Some ppl claim unsprung weight is comparable to sprung weight via a 4:1 ratio...

    So at 11lbs/ea... that's 44 total... x4... a 176lbs equivalent... every 100 lbs is a 10th of a sec in the quarter mile.

Anyone rocking these in SoCal, AZ, or south NV?

I've said in other threads I want to get rid of my 33" MT MTZ's for 32" duratracs (because of my great experience with them), but just by the nature of the tire, it seems like this new design would perform better out in the desert than a duratrac.

Someone showed a clogged up BFG above, I never had that with a duratrac. Everything but clay left the tread by the time it got up to hub-height, seldom the top of the tire. I don't think that's an issue in the desert, and it seems a slightly lower-void pattern will grip better on the rocky, grainy sand.

EDIT: I wouldn't be concerned too much with heavy snow, rain, or mud. Almost no snow, very little rain only a few months out of the year, and mud to match. There could be deep-sand driving on the beach...

    Agree….

Had an autocross car with 3 sets of wheel/tirepackages. I could definitely feel the difference between the lighter ones and heavier ones.

On a truck, probably doesn’t matter as much, but it is something to take into account as you decide.

I like the T/A KO2s. ..but still researching several others…

If you don't need an E-load tire... Toyo's Open Country A/T are light in P-series sizes...

    For comparison:
    245/75/16 BFG KO2's are 48lbs
    245/75/16 Toyo OC AT II's are 34lbs

Just bought a 2015 Tacoma DC PreRunner SR5 4.0L on Sunday. It came with the Dunlop GrandTrek AT20's in 245/75/16. With 350 miles on her I had to get rid of the stock steel wheels and went over to Discount Tire in Hiram, GA.

I got new Pro Comp 31 wheels in flat black 16X8 and ended up getting the new BFG TA KO2's in 265/75/16.

I have a couple of questions...
    1. They set PSI to 42. I lowered to 36 in each. I see most run 35-36psi.
    2. The tires are quiet but have a much rougher / bouncier ride than the GrandTrek's.
    3. Should they ride this rough? Is it possible they aren't balanced properly?
    4. What kind of gas mileage hit can I expect? I got exactly 20mpg on my first tank with stock wheels and tires.

Thanks in advance for any help / advice.

TacoDeLaPlaya... Thank you for your feedback. I appreciate it.

I'm not impressed with the ride at all. She rode just as well as my Accord with the stock tires. LOL. Now it rides like an old school "truck." If it's really a 5mpg reduction, they will be going back. I'm cool with a 1-2mpg reduction, but 5mpg is too much to stomach. I didn't realize they were an "E" load range tire until I got home last night and did further research. They weigh 53.5lbs each compared to 32 pounds for the Dunlop's. I may try and see if I can exchange for the Michelin LTX M/S2 in a 265/70/16 or 265/75/16. I don't do any off-roading, so basically I got the BFG's just for looks.
