Looking for new tires for my '03 Prerunner, the biggest purchasing point will be snow performance for upstate NY winters! I'll be getting them in 265/75r16 before the end of the month.

Yes i have thought about snow tires, no I can't afford them (I'm a broke college student, only have the $ for one set this year).

    Any suggestions are appreciate!

I just got cooper at3s in that size in LT and 6 ply(c-rated). Great so far, but no snow testing. Decent price-about $680 total. A fellow TW'er has them and says they were great in snow by him

My Coopers did awsome in the snow and ice this winter and have always done good at everything but of those listed id say Duratracs.

Duratrac for snow. Otherwise I would go with the KO2's (FWIW I have heard from a Toyota Offroad shop that the KO, although not the KO2, does not do as well for us lighter trucks in the winter. They are better for the 1500's and full sizes)

I have Duratracs as well. Love em. I feel like they've handled well in every scenario I've been in. Plus they're an aggressive good looking tire.

I've been leaning toward the Duratracs for sure, thanks for the responses so far!

    Cooper A/TW.

New all terrain tire intended for year round use. Lots of siping and they look great for winter. They still come with a 50k mile warranty. Pretty cheap too. I was looking at a set up here on sale for 25% off.

A 50k warranty would be awesome, that's what is holding me back on the duratracs. As a student it would be comforting to have some sort warranty.

+1 on the Coopers AT/W, definitely worth a look.

They might be cheaper to buy. And will probably allow better fuel mileage too.

FWIW, Consumer Reports rated them as a "recommended tire" too in the all-terrain truck tire category. Although they don't evaluate any off-road capabilities as far as I know.

The Cooper AT/W's might end up being the choice after review lol

I'd rather have the duratracs or something "cool" but the coopers are probably far more preactical.
