My VERY limited time in the snow, was all off road and they worked great. It wasn't more than 6", and I drove maybe 10 miles the entire day. We got up to about 25 on some of the straight aways with no bad handling and no problems with small hills (climbing and descending). There's probably a better tire for snowy pavement, but the duratrac is good on snowy dirt.

Im a big Duratrac fan. My explorer had 35" Duratracs on it, my Tacoma had 265/75 16 Duratracs which had 80 000KMS on them before i sold them on kijiji. I have these 305/70 16's Duratracs on now and i rotate them every 10 K they are wearing very good.

I’m in the market for new tires, so I appreciate your fforts with this review.

However – not sure why you referenced the 1.75 out of 5 star rating at Consumer Affairs… I glanced at the site. Of the ones I chose to look at…Bridgestone– 1.28/5, Goodyear – 1.40/5, Michelin – 1.41/5 & Discount Tire – 1.49/5. Either not useful information or cooper is better than all the ones I looked at…

I'm pretty tire incompetent, but after some research and your post I'm gonna go with "P" rated Hankooks. I have 265 70 16 now, but they only offer 265 75 16. My question is if you don't mind is will those fit the current wheels? Thanks for the help.

They'll fit fine but will be about 1" taller than the 70's. The 265/75-16 is considered the tallest tire you can fit on a stock Tacoma. Heads up though some people, like myself with the 265/70-17 still experience some very minor rubbing at full lock. Mine only happens in reverse with the wheel locked to the right. No biggie.

If your taco is stock with 265/75/16 (or 265/70/17) you won't rub unless you have aftermarket wheels or wheel spacers

Stock is as OZ mentioned and plenty of people have minor rubbing with 265/76-16 and 265/70-17

Thanks for the thread. I need to replace my banana peels, and it sounds like the DynaPro ATMs would be a good fit for my use, instead of getting a winter and summer set. As has also been mentioned above, it would mean going to a larger diameter tire for me. Currently on stock at 265 / 70 R16. This would mean going up to 265/75/16. It sounds like I can continue to use my stock rims, but may cause some minor rubbing? Like if I had a full load of dirt, I'd be in trouble?

If you experience any rubbing it should only be in the front and when at full crank on the wheel. Mine only happens in reverse and at full right crank... I only notice because it's how I get out of my driveway. The ATM's rubbed a little the Duratracs rub a little more.. not enough that I'm worried about it. Stock rims would be fine.

The ATM's were a great tire, good choice.

If you haven't purchased new tires yet you may consider checking Sears. They have Dynapro's in 265/70/16, Tire Rack does not.

I thought stock was 245/75 R16. I just bought a set of ATMs in that size for my new (to me) 2006 Prerunner. I hope I didn't screw up. Walmart has them for $119 each. I also checked the date of manufacture. It turned out to be December of 2013.

I've only had them for a couple of weeks, but they're a big improvement over the old Michelins that were on them. The Michelins were starting to separate, and I was advised not to drive over 40 mph.

245/75R16 is also a stock size. Roughly the same diameter as the other stock sizes mentioned, just not as wide. Mostly depends on the trim.

    Just purchased, stock for now
I had the hankook dynapro atm's on my last vehicle and really liked them a lot. They had amazing traction in all conditions, very little road noise, and loved the more aggressive look. The only down side I noticed about them was the decrease in fuel economy. Went from 16/mpg to 14/mpg. Even though I stayed at stock tire size. Despite all that, I will definitely buy them again. They are a great value
