Wheels or tires

On my 09 Sr5 4 cyl, yea the one with those skinny 15" tires. In your opinion what would make it look a little MEANER ? Wider tires, different wheels, or both. I've thought about 16's but not sure how that might effect the power, not that I have lots of extra ponies to waste. Also thought of painting the stock wheels black. Sure will appreciate your advice.

 

Wow on a 4cyl, I don't know. I'm sure you could do a search for "5 lug tacomas" and "5 lug lifts" to find things.

I did a 3" and 33's on my taco and now I sit same height next to full size trucks, but I don't know how well the 4 banger can turn those.

 

I have an 05 prerunner access cab with 4 cyl 5 spd. I am running 285/60/18 Nitto Terra Grapplers & it does just fine. No, it's no rock crawling offroad beast & it's no race car but for what it is, it does good. Much better than my 82 prerunner reg cab 4 cyl 5 spd did with 195/75/15s on it but in it's defense, the rear end was from a 3 spd automatic so it had very tall gears. 5th was only for 70 & above.

Tires. Throw the biggest mud tire you can safely fit and it will instantly look much more aggressive. Also, wheel size won't change your power, the overall diameter of the tire is what dictates the power change.
