I just bought 285/75/17 toyo m/t and it rub

I just bought myself some wheels and tire ,i started to place them but soon found out i was rubbing badly against the front part of the fender and also the back part of the fender.so i think i bought too big off a tire !! ive got a 3inch lift and dick cepek wheels on my truck ! what would be a perfect fit for my truck without too much trimming !!! wheels are 17 inch also !!I need somebodys help soon !!!

 

Mine are 285-70-17. I hardly rub at all and I'm running the Baja MTZ claw on a 17x9 moto metal 955.

 

Your gonna have to trim the front black piece, I think its the splash guard, and the back part of the fender with a 3" lift. Everyone has to trim. I trimmed a lot and still have to trim more. lol. Good luck.

I did the same thing 285/70/17 rubbed bad, also rode like a log waqgon. I went to a 265/70/17 much better and still looks good with 3 inch lift

 

I guess it really depends on which "3 inch lift" you got. I went with the Ultimate kit from toytec and barely rubbed with them at the stock setting. Others that just buy spacers seem to rub pretty bad.

 

thanx , i have a 3 inch revtek kit and im trying to run some dick cepeck rims 17 inch . and when a i mounted on my truck it seem like it would tear my fender away . so i cut that black squarre in front of my bumper and it was still rubbing big time !! but maybe i can return my tire for smaller that be lot better ! right !! am i gonna have the same look if i go with 265/75/17 so what else should i trim !!

 

We can't really tell you what to trim. You gotta get out and look at the truck at full lock left and right, fully stuff tires, and any other positions that you hear rubbing in, figure out what is touching and how far it needs to be trimmed back...

There is no one single answer or trimming "pattern" to follow to fix it...

 

ok so from what i see is that i should go with a 275/70/17 or 265/70/17, and for the rubbing probably every tire gonna rub differentalso i suppose depending the treads . im putting some toyo M/T . thanx anyways guys

 

You need to trim no matter what, but your 75 tire profile is a little to big for a 3"lift and if you are running a negative offset it's even worse, you might rub on metal in the rear of the fenderwell. You could:
-get smaller tires
-if you have negative offset wheels get ones that are max. 0 offset (positive might be needed)
-get a slight body lift.

 

Your 285/75/17's are actually 34's, not 33's. Thats why you're having the issues most likely. I'd recommend 275/70/17's for little to no rub with the 3" lift, 285/70/17s with a little bit of trimming.

 

so would 33 inch tire from toyo M/T passe on my truck with a 3 inch lift. im running now toyo a/t 265/75/16 thats equal what rughouly 31 inch tire !!
