I have a 2007 Tacoma TRD 4x4 with Access Cab. I'm on my 2nd set of BFG Rugged Trails. They are the OEM tires that came with the truck. In the next several weeks, I'll be looking to replace all (4) tires. I'm ready to try something different.

I don't really need off-road tires anymore, but do want tires that are all-season, good in the rain and the same size (265/70-16). I also want a tire that will provide a noticeably quieter ride. With this criteria does such a tire exist?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Michelin LTX M/S2. Absolute best tire for on road all season and very quiet and smooth. They last forever and you will love them.

neverstuck has it right - best tire on the market for on-road all-season use is the LTX MS2 in my opinion. Have a set on my GMC, they've been great tires and the next owner of the truck probably has at least 40k+ left in them.

Thx. I've read a couple reviews that claim they are noisy. Do find that to be the case?

If in doubt or not available, the Firestone Destination LE2 is also a very solid choice.

What does it mean if I go to a 75, instead of the stock 70? Is it a wider tire? Any reason not to do this with stock suspension?

It's a slightly taller tire. It will fit on your stock suspension.

    Bone Stock.
the middle number, ie 265/75/R17 is the aspect ratio. Its the height of the sidewall as a percentage of the width. The tire listed above would have a sidewall thats 75% of 265mm. So obviously, a larger middle number is a taller tire.

    It'll probably fit.

The ms2's are extremely quiet, once your drive with those you'll think everything else is loud. Maybe you read reviews for the original ms or maybe the at's, the ms2's are always quiet.

Ok, thx again everyone. Looks like I should plan to spend ~$200 per tire for the LTX M/S2.

Yea the Michelin LTX M/S2 are THE best onroad tire available. Very pricey, but worth it.

An extra couple hundred bucks is entirely worth it to make your truck handle better and stop way shorter. Aside from that, it's cheaper to buy one set of MS2's than 2 sets of something else. The things really do last forever. I've never read a review that they are loud and I find them extremely quiet.

The first two review here are complaints about the noise. I've read about the noise on ohter review sites as well. That's why I'm asking.

That's crazy. Can't imagine another tire being noticeably quieter.
