So I need some help from the tacoma world folks. I research everything to death and most of the time it works in my favor but with tires it ends up leaving me with a hand full of options that I can't decide on. These are my options as of now that I've been quoted at local shops. All of these are in the 285/75r16 variety. Mind you I drive roughly 100 miles round trip a day for work. But being 2wd I feel I need more off road traction. Now that spring is near I'll be camping, trail riding and fishing quite a bit. These are my options along with it the four prices.
    Kenda klever AT $610 otd. (Although I can't find a 285/75r16 online)

Yea I just don't know if they are aggressive enough. I'm running these now ImageUploadedByTapatalk1425349210.414133.jpgand just don't know if toyos or the hankook would be aggressive enough. And the $650 price point is very appealing.

Not overly impressed with any of the choices but, I would agree with Mr Lobster.

Having no exp with the Definty or Klenda, I would offer a bit less on the Hancocks. Many tire shops can negotiate. I do know they are a solid choice.
Check a local Costco, many times they can usually beat local shops out and typically have a good selection of tires.

Definity are made by cooper. Kenda have been in business for a long time making bike and atv tires. Wild country are made by multi mile which is a owner by the same company that owns Goodyear, kelly and others.
Also there is no local Costco nor do I have a Costco membership.

I'll probably end up with the hankooks. I just really don't want to spend that much but I know that spending the extra 200 I will get more miles out of the tires and I want lose nearly as much mpg. More than likely they will be fine for the terrain I off road on.

The toyos will last longer than any of your other choices. Look around, toyo offers deals often.

When it comes to tires, I try to avoid off brands and knock offs. Tire's are far too important to take shortcuts, not just for traction, but for safety and reliability. Of those options I'd choose either the Dynapro ATMs or Open Country ATII. If you like the Toyos, look into the Nitto Terra Grappler. It's tread pattern and rubber compound is nearly identical and they tend to be a lower price.

I feel the hankooks reassemble the toyos more so than the nittos. Between the hankooks and dynapros. The dynapros will probably be the tire of choice solely on price. I was quoted this morning 750 otd for hankooks. I don't feel the extra 200 is worth it right now for the toyos.

I think I'm going to hold out a few more weeks on getting tires. I have a big job interview coming up in a few weeks and if that goes in my favor I'll be getting the tires I want. Not worrying about saving a few bucks with buying off brands.
