What tire would be as tall as a 285/70/17 but thinner?

I got a set of used 285/70 duratracs that will not clear my UCA's. I don't want to run spacers and I would rather keep my stock sport wheels. What tire size will let me keep the height of the 285's but get a little slimmer to clear the UCA's?

    255/80/17 .. still might need 1" spacers.

I am running 1" spacers and don't want any spacers. Any other suggestions?

Try out the 255s, you might could use them without spacers. I think I read a build thread on here that used them without spacers or a lift and still cleared them. It's also a true 33" tire.

so... I DON'T want to run spacers. I appreciate the feedback but I DON'T want to run spacers. So, from what I am reading, there is not a tire as tall as a 285 that will not require me to run spacers because I DON'T want to run spacers.

It sounds like either new wheels to keep the 285's or tall and skinnies...

I went with 265/70's. Not really what I wanted but they are a guaranteed fit.
