Was about to pull the trigger on a set of 17" Black Rock Yuma 908's when I gave some consideration to the manufacturing process on them. Back when I had my VW I was going to pick up a set of wheels and I made sure I factored in the way the wheels were made given living in the North East with these potholes, combined with the lo pro tires on it would have made my life miserable if I were unable to avoid one. Fast forward to the present, I obviously drive a truck with a heck of a lot more sidewall, but fears of cracking a rim on a pothole still kept me from going to an 18" wheel (yes, I know, mallcrawler lol).

That said I wonder if in the long term a gravity cast wheel is still a good choice; or given the weight difference should I just add the 10 # or so and get a steel wheel of a similar design?
