had some trouble with new tires fitting right...

so i have some 285/70/10 km2's sittin on 17x9 moto metal 951's. i had some 285/70/17 firestone destination a/t put on at my local firestone dealer today and after they were on there was a big gap between the edge of the wheel and the tire. the guy said it had something to do with a bead protector or a wider sidewall or something? anyway i had them take off the destination's and try the duelers, same outcome but not as bad. so i kept the km2's.

this sucks because id like to get some a/t tires. the destinations and duelers didnt look right. so i guess im stuck with some bfg a/t or maybe nittos? won't happen for a while though because i paid 193 buckaroos for them to take off the tires and put them back on pretty much. sucks!

no i didnt take any pics, it actually hit me after they were takin them off that i should have. but basically the tires looked like they weren't wide enough for the wheel. usually the tire is flush with the wheel, if not bubbling out over it ya know? this tire a gap between the tire and the wheel

ya, I know what ya mean. I think my tires do the same thing you mention. They're a 255/75/17 on a 17x9 and their max is supposed to be something like a 17x 8 or 8.5. My wheel is actually wider than the tread width of the tire. Makes it look a tad goofy, but the tires were hella cheap so I figure I'll run em to 50% and then go bigger. Hopefully i'll have a 6" lift by then and i'll be buying 35's.

thing is those destinations are supposed to fit a 9" wide tire. i would think most 185/70/17's would be just about the same width. the tires looked great, until you got to the edge of the wheel. oh well, guess ill save up for some bfg a/t or nitto's lol
