how would you get the offset for your rim?

 

Do you mean how do you figure the offset of the stock wheel? Or how would you figure the offset for an aftermarket wheel?

im talking about an aftermarket rim. what would be a safe offset to use on my tacoma? because im going to order a set of aftermarket rims and i want to put a wider tire on my truck and not have it rub.

 

im looking to have a 33x11.5r15

 

4.5" of backspacing is pretty much perfect for a 3" lifted 05+ Tacoma. That's what I have on my truck. This will also help you fit wider tires without rubbing the upper control arm. I think the stock wheels are 5" of backspacing. The less backspacing, the further out the rim will be away from the hub.

I have a 2005, i am looking to put 2003 4runner wheels on it for winter. Can i put these on it and what kind of backspacing should i look for?

 

I lifted my 2001 Tacoma 2 1/2" and put on 285/75/16 (33.1X11.3") BFG Mud-Terrains. The tires rub the upper control arm when the suspension is extended. I want to go to 8" steel rims instead of the factory 7" rims. What backspacing should I have so the tires don't rub the upper control arm or stick out so far they rub the pinch weld or front bumper when turning?
