Ordered my new wheels yeah
Not buying the truck for 10-11 months but ordered my 16x8" 4" BS pro comps, LOL. Got them from from 4x4 parts for $490 shipped and a $100 gift card, that I'm using to buy the 32x11.5" TSL Swampers in about 8 months LOL.
Already have the chrome bumper, factory chrome trimed grill, pedal covers and skid plate put away too and some other stuff. I love buying mods months before I buy my cars. At least with my Z I waited until six months before I bought it. |

Now Chad I don't believe I have ever heard of that concept where you buy the mods, wheels, etc. before pruchasing the Truck !!!!!! There is a chance you may end up with a parts department

cool, they came in today. they pretty good for cheap $114 wheels.
Gonna have to hold off on the tires since the $100 gift card is being mailed later. Just as well I don't have any room to store them anyway. |

A buddy of mine at work bought a set of new Centerlines for his FJ Cruiser and they did not fit, something to do with the brake calipers up front, so be careful, may be find a friend with a new taco and try them on ?

chad, what came first, the chicken or the egg
![]() that is a cool idea..... you don't have to spend money on mods and a truck payment at the same time!!! |

LOL yes aren't I clever, instead of going broke buying mods like some of you guys, I will go broke on the payments, kidding on both counts. I have bought mods well in advance on most cars and bikes I have ever bought because I hate waiting for back ordered or out of stock parts. All the parts, including tint and lift will be installed within 3 days after I take delivery. Plus having all the parts stashed away makes the time go by quicker and keeps me on track, to not blow money on anything I don't need, like more mods to my Z:-P I reseached the hell out of these exact wheels before I bought them and I already knew before I bought them, that I will need to shave off a tiny bit of the caliper. I've already e-mailed a guy who sells them and that knows first hand of the clearance with that exact wheel on 2005+ tacos and have seen 2 DIY threads again with the same exact wheel and showed how much I need to remove. It's a very minimal amount and won't compromise the strength of the calipers in anyway. If I thought it would weaken the brakes, I never would have went with these wheels. What's in the way is that silly a$$ 3/8 tall 1/2" wide 4.0" long" raised portion on the side of the caliper that has a few numbers stamped on it from the factory. I'm pretty sure that added thickness was added in the casting/mold process, so they could later stamp the numbers onto the caliper, without tweaking the calipers and serves no other purpose than making buying aftermarket wheels more of a pain.. |

Here is one of the sites that has pics of the brake issue with the wheels I got. There was another site with the same type of pics but can't find it just yet.

That's cool, sounds like you have done your homework. Although unlikely, when you do shave the calipers...there goes the warranty.

The only exception may be the parking brake because I had my Z for 6 months and the e-brake cable failed and they fixed it with no hassle. |
