BFG TA KO or GoodYear Wranger Duratrac

I'm not going to lie, I also want the Dura tracs cause A) I think they'd clean a little easier in snow and mud and B) There's a douche dick sucker in my condo complex with the EXACT same truck as mine, cept he has BFG TA KOs on his.

His truck is never dirty. Ever. Even in winter. And it's immaculate. No scratches or dings. I think the most off road it's seen is the gravel they put down in winter time.
And he wears spy sun glasses and has a big spy window decal in the rear sliding window. He's one of those guys who wears shorts, flip flops, ball cap, sunglasses and a golf shirt with the collar popped.

 

I have the BFG TA KO's on my blazer.

on dry streets handling, ride and sound are pretty good, wet weather they tend to not grab the best and I find easy to break them loose with my blazer. winter driving they are ok. off road (mud) they are so so, no real rock to play on so can't say there, but they have held up ok to cut off scrub trees, branches and cornstalks though with minamal nicking and no flats.

overall their ratings on tirerack are probably fair, that said, I am not planning on getting them my next time around since i think there's probably better tires around.

Seriously though, do you pop your collar cause if you answer yes I'm going for a 12 hour drive and kickin' your westcoast ass.

 

So I got to look first hand at some DuraTracs today. And damn they look pretty good. I'm not entirely sure the siping goes right to the bottom of the tread, but the wheels are on another companies truck, so I didn't want to start prodding them too much. I was already getting some looks squatting there and staring for a few minutes.

Definately looks like a good cross between an A/T and an M/T. In person I think those voids would clear pretty good compared to other A/T tires.

I decided to keep my Duratracs, they look way better in person and will hopefully work well with all the rain that we get here. Once I have everything on, I'll post some pictures.

 

So that means you pop your collars? *Sigh*

I'm really curious as to how they perform in rain and on ice. I'm confident they'll be excellent on trails, pavement and snow, but it's the rain and ice that's the deal breaker with me.

What size did you get the Duratracs in?

 

I really think I'm getting BFG AT's or Duratacs for my next tire, depending on how good of a deal I can get.

I bought 285/70/17 and I'm going to mount them on Xd Addict wheels. Gotta get
my suspension installed first though

The BFGs are great in the snow. I'm sure that the duratrac's perform well too tho.

 

I have the duratracs and they kick ass, I can't wait to rip 'em up in the winter. They're winter rated ( snowflake emblem like dedicated winter tires ) And with this i'm sure they'll be better than BFG's in the snow/winter

 

yeh lol ur right razor that litte snow flake on the side surely makes them 10x better than the bfg's. n/m tryin them out the emblem says it all. They should have a dumb comment filter on this site

 

winter snow "rating" makes a huge difference....have you ever driven in snow....

 

nope never its desert climate in wv! why would I say they are awesome in the snow if I have never driven in the snow you should read like 5 posts up before chimming in on the thread
