yeh i was layin it on pretty thick too. Maybe its the driver and not the tires. just because they have a winter rating doesnt mean they cant be crappy tires. thats like saying every mud tire is great in the mud.

The BFG AT's I've got have the same winter snowflake symbol! And they are excellent on ice. I don't think the new ones do though?

The little snowflake has to do with rubber compound, and its ability to remain pliable in cold temperatures.

IMO, the BFG A/Ts are not very good in mud. They cant clean for anything because the voids are to close together. Dont get me wrong, its a great on road/rock/dirt/winter tire, but if you plan to do any sort of "mudding" i'd stay away from them. I ran them for about 2 years, and finally just got a set of M/Ts.

Iv been looking at getting a new set, and im leaning toward the DuraTracs. Cant seem to find anything else that can beat the price and capabilities for an on/off road tire.

I just got new duratracs, haven't put them on yet so i can't say much about performance, but they look like the most agressive AT out there... i'm sure they will do awesome in the snow and better than the KO's in the mud. Super soft rubber might not make them last super long even though they have a 40K warrantly, but they will grab good in all conditions and from what i have read they don't chunk like some...

There are a couple videos on YouTube showing the Duratracs going through some pretty horrendous mud without any issues. I would go for those, and I will be buying those in a couple of months.

I can't comment about the Duratracs but I'm intrigued on how well it performs overall. I'd also like to know how long they will last since I've have two sets of BFG's and they last forever and perform relatively well. The only complaint I have with BFG is that it let loose on ice but maybe I just have a heavy foot. I think I'll try out the Duratracs next.
