Possible TPMS solution

I'm going to check this out:

This places the sensor inside the wheel on a special mount, held in place with a strap.

I'm leary as on the Ford site, the Ford strap-on sensors have been reported as being ruined by the ham-fisted monkeys hired as tire busters at tire stores everywhere.

Given the vulnerability of the stem mount jobs, I suppose they are routinely popped off with the tire machine too.... But I digress.

If this works, it means the sensors for your stock steelies (and mine) will work in your shiney new/painted/powdercoated/lightly scratched/perfect/new/used alloy wheels.

And if you sell the alloys to buy heroin, and put some steels on there, you'll get all fuzzy knowing the alloy sensors will strap on to your steelies...

More as I figure it out.

And if you already figured it out and this doesn't work, please advise...

As one who tried the steel wheel sensors on an alloy wheel recently, I know that they are not compatible. However, I see no issues actually with using the alloy wheel sensors on a steel wheel. The alloy sensors are actually a 20 degree angle on the sensor and valve stem, and the steel wheel sensors have a bit of a steeper angle on them, making them unusable on the alloy wheels in the valve stem hole. The strap idea is actually one way to deal with them, but I am not sure if anyone has actually used this method either...
